Description: Claude Debussy's two Arabesques emerged in 1888 during his earliest compositional period. It is now well accepted that in this period Debussy's piano works do not generally exhibit the unique musical characteristics which would establish him forever as one of the world's greatest and most innovative composers. It is felt that, of all the works in this period, the Arabesques comes closest to preparing for the Debussy works of years to come. Published by Alfred. Edited by Lynn Freeman Olson.
