G.Henle Verlag presents Robert Schumann's Symphonic Etudes Op.13 which he referred to as "etudes in the orchestral character." Composed in 1834-35, the symphonic etudes were dedicated to Madame la Baronne de Fricken nee Comtesse de Zedtwitz, and were originally referred to as 'variations' rather than 'etudes'.
