It should be noted that this transcription is not a simplification. It contains every note of the original. Time values have been doubled for ease of reading and to bring the work into more modern notation, but nothing is omitted. It is hoped that this transcription will be motivational and educational to all students who study it, since it is quite effective on the modern piano, and it is, indeed at least of the greatest pieces of music ever written.
