Scarlatti, An Introduction to His Keyboard Works contains the easiest works among Scarlatti's more than 550 known sonatas. They were written for his royal pupil and patroness, Queen Maria Barbara of Spain. Since no autographs are known to exist, the primary sources are the manuscript volumes in Venice and Parma and the printed editions published by Roseingrave and Boivin.
